Synera and EOS expand collaboration with enhanced EOSPRINT Connector for automated exposure strategy optimization

New capabilities enable automated tuning of exposure parameters across the build platform, dramatically reducing manual calibration work while improving part quality and consistency.

Bremen

Synera and EOS announce an extended version of the EOSPRINT connector for the Synera AI automation platform, enabling AM-focused organizations to fully automate exposure strategy optimization and achieve higher quality results in a fraction of the time.

Additive manufacturing (AM) engineers face persistent quality challenges when printing larger jobs that cover the whole build platform. Uniform exposure strategies across entire build areas often result in inconsistent part quality, including warping, density variations or other changes in material properties. For high quality results, exposure parameters currently have to be adjusted locally for each geometry based on the engineers’ experience and the evaluation of test specimen printed alongside the parts – a time-intensive process repeated for every new build.

Industry-Leading Metal AM Technology from EOS

EOS has been pioneering industrial metal additive manufacturing for over three decades, with EOSPRINT serving as the industry standard for build preparation and print job management. The software's proven reliability and comprehensive exposure strategy management have made it the trusted choice for metal AM operations worldwide.

Agentic Engineering Platform with Synera

Synera's AI-powered automation platform enables engineering organizations to create and deploy collaborative AI agents that supplement teams and autonomously address product development tasks. The platform's open ecosystem approach allows engineers to automate complex AM workflows by seamlessly integrating with industry standard tools like EOSPRINT.

Automating Exposure Strategy Control

The enhanced EOSPRINT connector for Synera now provides these exposure modification capabilities:

  • Management of exposure strategies: Ability to extract and modify existing exposure strategies
  • Tweaking of exposure strategy parameters: Precise control of individual exposure parameters within each strategy

These capabilities enable AM engineers to build intelligent automation workflows that automatically select optimal exposure parameters per part or location based on programmed logic rather than manual intervention. By combining EOSPRINT's parameter modification capabilities with their own heuristics, calibration data feedback, and quality criteria, engineers can create comprehensive quality optimization systems tailored to their specific processes. This automation approach delivers tremendous time savings by eliminating repetitive manual adjustments while reducing dependence on expert engineers for routine exposure strategy modifications, ultimately enabling faster production cycles and higher throughput across AM operations.

Accelerating Industrial AM Adoption

Both companies see this enhanced collaboration as addressing one of the most persistent bottlenecks in industrial metal additive manufacturing. The integration between EOS's proven exposure management capabilities and Synera's intelligent automation represents a significant advancement in making high-quality metal AM production more efficient and predictable.

"Our customers are already scaling their AM operations with Synera by automating build preparation steps like nesting and orientation that previously required extensive manual intervention. Adding EOS's advanced exposure strategy capabilities with granular parameter tuning enables them to achieve consistent part quality across entire build areas while eliminating the time-intensive calibration cycles that slow down production throughput." - Andrew Sartorelli, Partner & Product Management Lead at Synera.

"Automating repetitive and time-consuming tasks is key to scaling metal and polymer additive manufacturing. With our exposure strategy management integrated into Synera’s automation platform, engineers can quickly prepare build data, assign exposure sets, and configure exposure order or hatch coordinate systems. Synera, member of the EOS Developer Network, now supports the new EOSPRINT SDK capability to automate and control individual exposure parameters, improving build quality. This collaboration delivers the intelligent automation needed for consistent processes, higher productivity, and reliable results across the platform."- Rüdiger Herfrid, Senior Product Manager Software at EOS

The enhanced EOSPRINT connector with advanced exposure strategy capabilities is available in the Synera marketplace now.
