Why Synera made the case
"The increasing complexity and duration of product development present companies with significant challenges. With its AI agent platform, Synera offers a novel solution designed specifically for engineering that enables a significant acceleration of development processes," the jury stated in explaining its decision to award Synera.
The jury, composed of independent, interdisciplinary experts from the fields of technology, digitalization, science, and academia, elaborated further on its reasoning: Through seamless integration with business critical CAx tools, Synera supports engineering teams with digital colleagues who independently and efficiently take on tasks. This innovative solution reduces complexity and costs while simultaneously improving usability through a cognitive architecture. The platform stands out for its forward-looking overall concept, which enables a market-oriented and sustainable transformation of engineering organizations into AI-driven units,” the jury emphasized the benefit for manufacturers.
“Receiving the German Innovation Award <in the Excellence in Business to Business – Industry-Specific and Service Software category> is something we don't take lightly. The jury behind this award comprises some of Europe's most respected leaders in technology, digitalization, and innovation; experts who evaluate whether a product genuinely moves an industry forward in addition to its functionality. To be recognized by that caliber of panel, against the criteria they apply is deeply meaningful to us.
For the entire Synera team, this recognition is both validating and energizing. We know the problems our customers face. We know the gap between what engineering tools have been and what they need to become. This award tells us we are on the right path, and we intend to go full speed.”
Sebastian Möller-Lafore, Co-founder & CFO, Synera.
A sign of the future of engineering
The German Innovation Award, presented on May 12 in Berlin, is one of the most prestigious awards for forward-thinking products, technologies, and services that break new ground and offer innovative solutions. As such, it provides real value for users, companies, and markets. The award is presented by the German Design Council, which has served as a world-leading center of excellence for communication and knowledge transfer in the fields of design, branding, and innovation since 1953.
The fact that Synera was able to prevail underscores the platform’s quality: 462 submissions from 23 countries were evaluated in 2026—based on innovation level, user benefit, and cost-effectiveness. These are criteria that play to the strengths of Synera’s AI agent platform. The jury consists of independent experts in leadership positions at renowned organizations such as Adobe, the Fraunhofer Institute, and Bosch Power Tools.
Lutz Dietzold, Managing Director of the German Design Council, commented on the German Innovation Award 2026:
"Innovations are the engine of progress and future viability. They provide new answers to complex challenges and create real benefits for people, markets, and society. With the German Innovation Award, we give these ideas visibility and promote a dialogue about effective, forward-looking solutions.”
Already a reality today
What matters most to us is this: this cutting-edge technology is not just a vision, it is already in use today. By strategically automating design and engineering processes, our customers achieve measurable efficiency gains in product development. Numerous use cases from OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers, including global Fortune 500 companies such as BMW, Airbus, and NASA, demonstrate how AI agents tangibly relieve engineering teams and create new opportunities. For us, this award is both a validation and a driving force. It reinforces our commitment to continuing on our path: supporting engineering teams worldwide with AI-powered solutions that deliver real impact, today and in the future.
